70% of parents want to know how to keep their child safe online

Parents are always concerned about their child's Internet use. The amount of time children spend online during coronation has also increased. With that the risk has increased. Eighty percent of parents want to know how to keep their child safe online. The data came from a survey conducted by the government's Digital Literacy Center (DLC) platform.

The information was given at a program organized by Bangladesh Computer Council at the Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at Agargaon in the capital on Tuesday. According to a survey conducted by DLC on about 1 thousand people, 62 percent of the people want to know the way to verify the truth and falsehood of online news. 56 percent of people want to know how to earn money online. In addition, 40 percent of people are interested in learning about the legal aspects of digital security. Besides, people are said to be very interested in social media behavior and how to use the internet in their daily life.

The DLC platform will work with government agencies on e-learning, online etiquette, cyberspace, media literacy, knowledge sharing and related issues to create a secure internet experience for the people of Bangladesh. The DLC will cover third-fifth grade students, sixth-twelfth grade students, 18-35 year old youth, parents of 0-10 year old children, parents and people in their thirties. In most cases, parents turn off the Internet. But that is not the solution. Parents need to know and understand what can and cannot be done on the Internet.

Russell T Ahmed, president of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), said more and more people are falling victim to cyber bullying. But children do not share these facts with their parents. Because, in most cases, parents turn off the Internet. But that is not the solution. Mohammad Shahedul Alam, Robi's chief corporate and regulatory officer, said many people told mobile operators about blocking content. In fact, in this age of the Internet, blockchain is not the answer. Because, if you block one side, it will turn on the other side. We have to find another solution.
