Mark is decreasing, there will be no test exam



This year's SSC exam is scheduled to start on June 19 and HSC exam on August 22. This time there will be no selection test. A 'preparatory test' will be taken as an alternative. Students will not have to take exams in three subjects in SSC this year. And one thing is being left out in HSC.


The Dhaka Board of Secondary and Higher Education on Monday issued an 'emergency notification' announcing the decision regarding SSC and HSC examinations.

The SSC will cover Bengali, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Advanced Mathematics, Biology, Accounting, Business Enterprise, Finance and Banking, History and World Civilization of Bangladesh, Geography and Environment, Politics and Citizenship, Economics, Home Science and Agricultural Education.


SSC and HSC students do not have to take the selection test as there are no proper class activities due to corona. Generally, the students had to take exams in all subjects in the selection exams taken by the educational institutions.

SSC starts on 19th June, HSC on 22nd August. Physical classes start today in primary schools.


Meanwhile, after being closed for about a month and a half, physical classes are also starting in the primary schools of the country on Wednesday. Students from first to fifth grade will have classes every day (six days a week). However, pre-primary level students will not be able to come to school for the time being. Pre-primary students will be brought to the school after observing the situation for two more weeks. All schools will be run in two shifts. However, before the commencement of the class activities, the daily assembly in the primary school was not taking place. Parents should be discouraged from coming to school unless absolutely necessary. Apart from this, no teacher-employee can attend school without being vaccinated against corona.

Although the secondary, higher secondary and higher education institutions opened on February 22, the primary leave was extended till March 1.

SSC-HSC


SSC examinations are usually held in February of the year and HSC examinations in April. Due to the corona infection, the country's education system has become chaotic since March 2020. Not being tested on time or sometimes having to cancel. This year's SSC and HSC exams are also taking place much later than the scheduled time.

According to the 'emergency notification' of the Board of Education, the probable time for filling up the forms of the current 2022 SSC candidates is April 13. Registered students will fill out the online form at home. The probable start date of the preparatory test is 19 May.

On the other hand, the probable time for HSC candidates to start filling up the forms is June 8. The preparatory test may be on July 14.

Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar, Chairman (Routine Duty) of Dhaka Board of Education , told Prothom Alo that it has been decided to take preparatory examination as an alternative to the election examination.

How many subjects to test


This year, most subjects including Bengali, English and Mathematics will be tested. Only three group-based elective subjects were tested in last year's SSC and HSC.

This time SSC will not have to give exams on religion and moral education and information and communication technology. With this, the students of science department do not have to take exams on Bangladesh and world identity. And students in the humanities and business education departments don't have to take science exams. The three subjects that a student does not have to take the exam will be evaluated by 'mapping' (based on the result of JSC and equivalent examination).

The subjects to be examined in SSC are: Bengali, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Advanced Mathematics, Biology, Accounting, Business Enterprise, Finance and Banking, History and World Civilization of Bangladesh, Geography and Environment, Politics and Citizenship, Economics, Home Science. And agricultural education.

The SSC exam will be in the restructured syllabus of 2022. For subjects that do not have practical education, there will be 55 marks (Creative 40, MCQ 15). And in the subjects where there is practical education, there will be an examination of 45 marks (Creative 30, MCQ 15). However, there will be 50 marks in the first paper and 50 marks in the second paper. Guidelines for exam time and number division are also given on the website of the Board of Education.


The test will be in two hours. The MCQ (multiple choice question) part time is 20 minutes and the compositional or creative part time is 1 hour 40 minutes. Normally, 100 marks in various subjects would be tested in 3 hours.

On the other hand, apart from Information and Communication Technology, HSC will have examinations on three subjects of Bengali, English, group based electives and one optional subject. Information and communication technology will be evaluated by 'mapping'.

Before Corona, examinations were conducted in 12 papers in different subjects in SSC and in 13 papers in different subjects in HSC.

In HSC, there will be 45 marks for those subjects which have practical education and 55 marks for those subjects which do not have practical education. However, Bengali will be tested on the basis of 50 marks in first paper, 50 marks in second paper, 50 marks in English first paper and 50 marks in second paper. HSC exams will be held in two hours.
